Aftercare Candles

Hand Poured Luxury Soy candle by Sublime Indulgences

By keeping our ingredients as natural as possible we’re doing our bit for the birds, the bees and the rest of the environment and remember a little blemish doesn’t affect the way the candle burns or smells. You may find that it doesn’t necessarily look like a factory poured candle which you have probably bought before.

It may have slight imperfections which in no way affect the quality of this product.  I would rather a spot on my apple than one that has been genetically modified and sprayed with chemicals, wouldn’t you?

Please follow the instructions to get the best out of your candle.

How to burn your candle

As with any other candles, soy candles must be burned properly to get the most out of them, and for safety reasons.

Soy candle wax has what’s called a memory. That means that when you burn a soy candle and then extinguish it, the next time you burn it, the soy candle wax will melt across as far as it did the first time.

This is why it is so important to allow soy candles to burn all the way across to the edge of the container the first time you burn it before putting it out. This ensures that your soy candle does not “tunnel” as it burns, leaving wax along the sides of the container.  This is where the scent is in scented soy candles. A good melt pool will give off the best fragrance throw. Burn your candles for NO more than 4 hrs at a time to prevent the container from getting too hot and to maintain a nice clean burn. Let the container cool before touching.

Too shallow of a melt pool will keep the candle from releasing the best amount of fragrance into the room. Another tip is to keep your soy candles away from drafts to prevent smoking and soot. Soy candles produce little soot when burned properly, but any candle will smoke and create soot if exposed to too much air, which is what happens if there is a draft.

Troubleshooting

If you are experiencing problems with your wick not staying lit or maybe creating a mushroom ball on the tip of the wick, it just needs to be trimmed a bit.

Keep away from drafts, children, pets and flammable objects. Burn on a fireproof holder and ideally for 4 hours at a time.

NEVER leave a burning candle unattended.

Planting Your Seed Topper

Place some well-draining compost or potting soil into your clean candle vessel. Add the seed paper onto the surface of the compost. Lightly press the seed paper into the compost to ensure good soil contact. Fill the vessel with more compost. Water the pot regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.

Keep in a warm place with natural light. Place the pot in a warm location with access to natural light, such as a sunny windowsill or greenhouse. Ensure the temperature remains consistently warm, as this is crucial for seed germination. Aim for a temperature range of 18 to 24 degrees Celsius (65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit).

Provide adequate ventilation to prevent mold growth, especially in humid conditions. Monitor the moisture levels in the soil, making sure it never dries out completely. However, be cautious not to overwater, as this can lead to rot or fungal issues.

While we provide instructions to help maximize your success, it's important to note that various factors, such as climate, environment and care, can influence the outcome. The best time to achieve success is Spring when everything starts to come back to life. Though we can't guarantee every seed will sprout into a flourishing plant, we encourage you to enjoy the process and hopefully the magic of nature will unfold.

Reed Diffuser

Using and aftercare

Warning! Flammable liquid. Do not light reeds and do not ingest. Keep away from children and pets.

People suffering from perfume sensitivity should be cautious when using this product. Always wash your hands after turning the reeds or coming into contact with the liquid in the bottle.

Do not place this product on painted, plastic, leather or polished surfaces or on electrical equipment as accidental spillage may cause damage to certain materials.

There are many factors that contribute to how long the oils last. Air conditioning, heating, closed doors, open doors, dehumidifiers, etc. However, the100ml diffuser oil should last for approximately 3-4 months, but ultimately this will depend on the temperature of your home.

To get the most out of your reed diffuser place it in a hallway or a room entrance. The airflow created will help circulate the aroma so the scent will reach you every time you enter and leave the room. Make sure it is out of reach of children and pets and don’t place it too near windows or radiators, as the heat will evaporate the fragrance oil.

You can control the amount of fragrance your reed diffuser releases by changing the number of sticks you use. More diffuser sticks means more fragrance is released. If you’re using it in a small area, try not using as many.

You can refresh your fragrance simply by flipping the wooden sticks. Turn them occasionally and swirl the bottle at least once a week to ensure thorough mixing of the oils. After, wash your hands and wipe up any fragrance oil that may have dripped onto your surfaces.

Oils for Waterless/Pod/Electric Diffusers

PLEASE NOTE: SUBLIME INDULGENCES DOES NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SUITABILITY OF THESE OILS FOR YOUR WATERLESS/POD/ELECTRIC DIFFUSER. PLEASE CHECK YOUR INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.

How many drops of oil should you put in?

The answer varies and is widely left up to you.  The usual amount is 3-10 drops.  It is recommended that you start with 3 and build up if you don’t find the aroma strong enough.  The oil drop count will also vary depending on the space where the diffuser is to be placed. The bigger the space the more drops you will probably require.

Just as some oils are better than others, the same goes for diffusers.  If you’ve added additional oils and still underwhelmed by the aroma it is producing, consider upgrading to a higher quality unit.

How do you clean an electric diffuser?

After using your diffuser, you may want to try another scent and notice that the remnants of your previous oil are in the bottom of your unit.  This is normal and to be expected so don’t worry.

While your diffuser doesn’t necessarily need to be cleaned after single session, it is important to clean it out as often as you can to keep those remnants from building up over time and altering the aroma of any oils you might use. While some diffusers are easy to simply wipe clean, others can be trickier.  Keep in mind that your diffuser should have cleaning instructions within its packaging, though most devices have similar cleaning methods that can be used across the board.
